The Senior Special Assistant on Political Matters to the Executive Governor of Delta State, Hon. Ikechukwu Martin Okakwu has hailed Governor Ifeanyi Okowa for his giant strides in office.
In a statement signed and made available to newsmen in Asaba, Hon. Okakwu noted that, Governor Ifeanyi Okowa deserves accolades for being able to deliver democratic dividends to Deltans in his one year in office.

“Our amiable governor deserves accolades for being able to deliver the dividends of democracy to the people in his one year in office. This is a man who has been able to construct roads, build schools, hospitals and execute a lot of projects across the 25 Local Government Areas of the state.

“Governor Ifeanyi Okowa has done well and is still doing well, we pray that God Almighty continues to direct him on the right path to enable him deliver more of his promises to Deltans”, he said.

Hon. Okakwu urged the people, especially workers in the state to remain calm as the governor is doing everything within his powers to ensure that no civil servant in the state is owed their entitlements.

“As you know, there are many states in the country that are battling to pay salaries, due to the low allocation accruing to states from the federation account, but ours is not like that as our governor has been able to stand firm just to ensure that no civil servant is deprived of their benefit. So I plead with workers in the state to remain calm as the governor is determined to better their welfare”. He said.

The SSA thanked the governor for creating 17,173 direct and indirect jobs in his one year in office, which includes the STEP/YAGEP empowerment programme that has lifted thousands of Deltans from the shackles of poverty.
