Agric Commissioner Calls for Cooperation To Reposition The Ministry

The state Commissioner for Agriculture and Natural Resources, Honourable Julius Egbedi has said the hallmark of every successful administration is hard work and dedication to duty.

Honourable Egbedi stated this today at a meeting with the management staff of the Ministry in Asaba as he assumed office.

He emphasised the need for all staff to work in synergy saying that teamwork would go a long way in ensuring that the Ministry helps the state become the economic hub of the nation while stressing that he would not tolerate any form of indiscipline or laxity among his staff.

Responding to the challenges facing the Ministry as outlined, the commissioner promised to channel them to the appropriate quarters for necessary action.

Earlier, the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry, Sir Austin Oghoro, while welcoming the Commissioner to the Ministry presenting the Handover notes to him, promised the unalloyed support and cooperation of the staff to the commissioner.

In another development, the Honorable Commissioner for Agriculture and Natural Resources, Mr. Julius Egbedi has called on trainees in Fish Hatchery Technology to make good use of the training opportunity presented to them by the Delta State Government.

Honourable Egbedi made the call at a training on Fish Hatchery and Fingerlings Production for fish farmers in Delta State organized by the Federal Department of Agricultural Extension in conjunction with Delta Agricultural and Rural Development Authority (DARDA).

Declaring open the Workshop, the Agriculture Commissioner said the training will help to tackle the issue of food security, meet the protein needs of Deltans, as well as create jobs.

Honourable Egbedi also appreciated the officials of the Federal Ministry of Agriculture for the initiative while also commending Governor Ifeanyi Okowa for his result-oriented programme to better the lot of Deltans.
