The Delta State Government has advised Deltans, especially those living around flood prone areas in Asaba, to be careful in their movements with the return of torrential rains.
A statement signed by the Media Assistant to the State Commissioner for Information, Mr. Sam Ijeh, in Asaba reads that the state government is concerned about the safety of all those living in the state.
According to the statement, the state government advises residents to avoid high flood risk areas as it is impossible to determine ones ability to withstand such pressure.
The state government also disclosed in the statement that it feels the pains and inconveniences suffered by residents as regards damage or loss of property.
In the same vein, the Media Assistant reiterated the state government’s resolve to put an end to flood problems in Asaba and environs assuring that all contractors recently awarded drainage and flood control projects will mobilise to site as soon as the dry season sets in.
