‘Be More Proactive In Service Delivery’ – Bayoko Charges Civil Servants

Civil Servants in Delta State have been enjoined to positively change their mindset in the execution and delivery of government policies and programmes to members of the public, for them to appreciate every activity they undertake.

The Head of Service of Delta State, Mr. Reginald Bayoko made the statement when he declared open the first-run of a two-day workshop on “mindset change” for officers on salary grade level 01-06 in the Delta State Civil Service in Asaba.

Mr. Bayoko who revealed that presently, Public Servants are almost always viewed with scorn, because of their mode and attitude towards service delivery to the general public, said that civil servants must think outside the box for sustainable solutions to critical issues that affect their job.

Recognising the critical role of Junior Officers, the HOS said there is need to start inculcating positive mindset on how they receive and react to information in improving productivity for efficient service delivery through this training workshop for them.

He thanked the Governor of Delta State, His Excellency, Senator Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa for providing the necessary support in making the training and re-training of Civil Servants possible for the general benefit of all Deltans, so as to actualize the SMART mantra of the government.

Earlier, the representative of the Director of Wider Perspective Limited, Mrs. Hanson Edughom thanked the government of Delta State for giving them the opportunity to impact their wealth of experience to staff in imbibing the positive mindset in the discharge of their duties.

She promised that the two days workshop will certainly change the attitude of participants in the delivery of their service to the general public after the workshop.
