COVID-19: Jite Distributes Food Items To Udu Communities, Urges All To Keep Hope Alive.

In his own way of cushioning the effects of the ongoing total lockdown order by the state government necessitated by the Coronavirus outbreak in Nigeria and in the world over most especially on Udu people, the Executive Chairman of Udu Local Government Council Hon. Chief Jite Brown (JP) yesterday Sunday 12/04/20 donated food Items worth millions of naira to all the 32 Communities of Udu Kingdom, God’s care Orphanage Home Otor-Udu, Physically Challenged Group in Udu as he urged all to remain steadfast and keep their hope alive in this trying period as the Pandemic will be somersaulted if all adhere strictly to the State Government order.

The Udu Council Boss while officially presenting the Items which included, a trailer of Yam, bags of rice, Bags Of Garri, Beans, Onions among others Items to the President General of Udu Kingdom High Chief Godwin Notoma under the watch of the Udu communities Presidents before the Items were taken to the 32 Communities for distribution, reminded the people that the lockdown order was for the best interest of all as it was a measure to contain the spread of Covid-19 pandemic in the state.

Chief Jite who commended Governor Ifeanyi Okowa for his proactive approach to governance in the state, commended the people of Udu and Deltans in general for obeying government directive to be indoors for the short period as part of measures to wade off the dreaded virus from the State.

Speaking further, Chief Jite who reiterated that the food Items will be distributed across board as it has nothing to do with political party affiliation, said that the elderly and most vulnerable persons in the various Communities will be considered in the sharing of the aforementioned items.

While thanking, the Executive Chairman of Udu Local Government Council for his magnanimity on behalf of the various Communities Presidents, the President General of Udu Kingdom High Chief Godwin Notoma said the items would go a long way in cushioning the hardship caused by the no movement order by the state government. High Chief Notoma equally called on others to emulate the magnanimity of the Udu Council Boss.
