Delta State Joint Task Force on Environment today swept into action sealing buildings and offices with dirty environment and pulling down illegal structures in Asaba.
The task force which was led by the State Commissioner for Environment, Mr. Chris Onogba, the Director – General, Asaba Capital Territory Development Agency, Hon. Joan Mrakpor and the Chairman, Delta State Waste Management Board, Mr. Emmanuel Chinye, patrolled the length of the Emmanuel Uduaghan Way (Summit Road), Asaba, enforcing compliance.
Speaking the State commissioner for environment, Mr. Chris Onogba, noted that the exercise would be carried out a on regular basis to ensure that residents of Asaba and its metropolis take ownership of their environment and ensure its cleanliness.
Mr. Onogba said that the exercise would be carried out in all parts of the Asaba Capital territory and other parts of the state, assuring that Government would not rest until the Cleaner and Stronger Delta agenda of the Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa Government is realised.
The Director General, Asaba Capital Territory Development Agency, Hon. Joan Mrakpor, expressed displeasure at the dirty environment of the Ministries, Departments and Agencies along Summit Road, Asaba, stressing that a clean working environment produces good results.
