A Commissioner in the Delta State Oil Producing Areas Development Commission (DESOPADEC), Chief Vincent Oyibode has called on all youths in Udu Local Government Area to embrace peace and work towards the development of Udu kingdom.
Chief Oyibode stated this during the 2019 Otor-Udu Community town hall meeting stated it would require a good youth before one could be a good adult, stressing, “If you cannot be a good child, you cannot be a good adult.
He condemned the attitude of youths who go out to import strangers from other places as agents used to cause crisis, saying such had led to the loss of lives and property.
The meeting which comprises of youths from the 32 Communities in Udu Kingdom was held in order to proffer a permanent solution to the lingering insecurity in Udu which has led to loss of lives and property in the area.
The special Assistant (SA) to Governor Ifeanyi Okowa on Peace Building, Hon Pat Willie, speaking at the meeting, said that the era of cultism was over, adding that youths should be of good conduct so as not to be victims, warning that stringent laws would soon be put in place to check all cult related activities in the state.
Present at the meeting were, the D.P.O, Ovwian Police Station, Mr Akim Tunde.
