Delta State Governor, Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa, has commended the 63 Brigade for the promotion and preservation of peace in the state, as well as the improvement of military-civil relationship.
The governor represented by the Information Commissioner, Mr. Charles Aniagwu, gave this commendation when he paid an inspection visit to the Nigerian Army, 63 Brigade Super Camp in Asaba.
“We are quite pleased with the way they have conducted themselves, we hope that other operations outside Delta State are able to emulate what they have done in Delta State with a view to ensuring that there is this improved relationship between the civil populace and the military.”
The governor further called for cooperation of the civil populace with the military in their operations to ensure that the gains thus far achieved are preserved and built upon.
Responding the Brigade Commander, Brig. Gen. Umar Bello, thanked the state governor for his support to the Brigade in ensuring that they carry out and achieve their objectives.
Recall that the Nigerian Army, 63 Brigade, commenced the Operation Crocodile Smile IV on the 8th of November, 2019, to tackle incidences of kidnapping, militancy, oil bunkering and other sundry vices rampant in the state and will end on the 23rd of December, 2019.
