The Commissioner for Lands and Surveys, Mr Churchill Amagada has assured House Committee on Lands, Survey and Urban Development, in the Delta State House of Assembly, maximum support to enable them perform their oversight functions in line with the stronger Delta vision of Governor Ifeanyi Okowa.
Mr Amagada gave the assurance when members of the House Committee on Lands and Surveys Development, Delta State House of Assembly paid him a familiarization visited in his office in Asaba.
At the meeting which took place in Asaba, the Commissioner assured the legislators of giving them maximum support to enable them perform their oversight functions in line with the stronger Delta vision of Governor Ifeanyi Okowa.
“I assure you of our maximum cooperation because we are heading towards the same goal. It is our responsibility to assist the Governor to build a stronger Delta and that is our mandate” he said.
Responding, the leader of the delegation from the state House of Assembly, Hon Reuben Izeze, said that the creation of the committee was in line with the provisions of the law.
He stressed that the visit was imperative to enable the legislators familiarize themselves with the Ministry and its parastatals, even as he expressed their readiness to justify the trust reposed on them by the people.
“We do hope that in the course of our future interactions, we will be able to move forward so that as prescribed by the Constitution, this Ministry will play its role as a trustee” he said.
