The Delta State Commissioner for Agriculture and Natural Resources, Mr. Julius Egbedi, has sympathised with fish farmers over losses experienced in the recent flooding in the state.
The commissioner who paid a visit to the Camp 74 cluster farm to assess the damage done promised to channel all issues relating to the flood to the appropriate quarters for necessary action.
He, on behalf of the state government, condoled with the farmers and the family over the loss of one of their members who lost her life during the flooding and called on the populace to take personal precautions to avert loss of life and property during the predicted flooding.
He further admonished the farmers to channel their grievances to their parent organization for appropriate action rather than rushing to the media.
Earlier, the chairman of Camp 74 Fish Farmers Association, Mr. Collins Ogbotobo, lamented the damage being experienced by the the farming cluster whenever the flood sets in and implored the government to find a lasting solution to this menace.
