JOINT TASK FORCE ON ENVIRONMENTAL SANITATION: DEADLINE FOR REMOVAL OF ILLEGAL STRUCTURES IS JANUARY 9, 2020

It is hereby announced for the information of the general public particularly Deltans that as announced earlier, residents, business owners, occupiers and owners of undeveloped plots within the Capital Territory, that the Delta State Capital Territory Development Agency (DSCTDA), has issued a 21-day notice, effective from Friday December 20, 2019, for all landlords and business owners to remove any illegal structures attached to their respective approved building plans.

The Agency will commence the imposition of requisite sanctions on defaulters as outlined in the Delta State Environmental Laws from January 10, 2020.

Of particular note are the following streets:

i. Rebelle Street, DBS Road and all adjoining streets
ii. Cabinet Office Road and all adjoining streets
iii. Barr Elueche Street and all adjoining streets
iv. Okpanam Road and all adjoining streets
v. Direct Labour Agency Road and all adjoining streets
vi. Jesus Saves Road and all adjoining streets
vii. Nnebisi Road and all adjoining streets
viii. Anwai Road and all adjoining streets

Buildings with defaced paintings, untidy environment, overgrown with weeds or drainages stuffed with wastes within or around their surroundings should be evacuated within the given period.

Accordingly, residents, business owners, occupiers and owners of undeveloped plots within the Capital Territory are advised to comply with the above directive as failure will attract the necessary sanctions.
