OGBOGONOGO MARKET AGOG AS OTUARO COMMISSIONS WATER PROJECT

The Deputy Governor of Delta State, Deacon Kingsley Otuaro, has commissioned a multi-million naira water project at Ogbogonogo Market, Asaba on behalf of the Delta State Government.

The deputy governor while commissioning the project said that he was particularly happy with the project, it that it added to the strings of achievements of the state government, emphasizing that the affected users would benefit immensely from it.

He advised the beneficiaries to put the facilities into proper use by ensuring they were not vandalized or destroyed but kept safe at all times.

The water project which its MoU was signed by the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) and the Delta State Government on the Implementation of Effective Water, Sanitation and Hygiene Services (E-WASH) in the state was finally completed.

The leader of the USAID Team, Mr Collin Drezine, said that the use of the water supplied by the Water Board would reduce water-borne diseases in the state, adding that with the MoU the partnership would create a healthier state.

He added that it was important for the Water Board to meet the water needs of the people and assured that USAID would work to improve water sanitation in the state.

The Attorney-General and Commissioner for Justice in the state, Mr Peter Mrakpor, Commissioner for Water Resources, Rt Hon. Martins Okonta signed the MoU on behalf of the state, while Dr Jean Jolicoeur and Robert Hanjahanja signed for USAID.
