The Orodje of Okpe Kingdom, His Royal Majesty Orhue 1 has approved and sealed indigene status to Governor Ifeanyi Okowa which automatically makes him a bonafide son of Okpe Kingdom of Okpe and Sapele Local Government Area respectively.
Orhue 1 made this declaration shortly after his keynote address during the Commissioning of the Ejinyere/Orodje and Onomigbo Okpoko Roads in Orerokpe by Governor Ifeanyi Okowa.
The Okpe monarch stated that the Indigene Status was alluded to the Governor as a result of the apparent fulfillment of campaign promises in Okpe Kingdom saying “This is the first time, since my ten (10) years on the thrown that a sitting Governor has approved the construction of three roads, in Okpe Kingdom executed and commissioned them within a record of time.”
He thanked the Governor for appointing indigenes of Okpe Kingdom as Political office holders in the present administration and expressed confidence that the construction work at Okpe Modern Market which has reached advanced stages would soon be completed and commissioned.
Highlight of the indigene status approval was the presentation of Elephant Tusk by the Orodje to the Governor as a seal to the indigene status.
