Students have been advised to be focused in choosing their professional career so as to achieve their desired goals in life.

This advice was given by the wife of the Delta State Deputy Governor, Engr. Dr. Ebierin Otuaro, at a symposium organized by the Initiative Center  for Economic & Leadership  Development, themed, “Engineering for Girls”, held in Abuja.

While commending the organizers for the initiative, she noted that the progam was aimed at disabusing the girl child of the notion that the engineering profession is only for males and encouraging  them to consider going into that profession.

She pointed out that the engineering profession is a noble career that goes a long way in building the economy of any nation as well as employers of labor.

She further advised that with hard-work, dedication and focus, they would be able to achieve anything they set their minds to achieve.

Also speaking Mrs. Olubumi Igunlola, one of the guest speakers, stated that women were under represented in the field of Engineering  in times past, but this however is gradually changing.

She called  for more women to key into the profession and contribute their quota in developing the society.

Some of the students who spoke commended the initiative behind  the  programme, saying  it has helped them to  focus their mind  towards career  determination and expressed their desire to take up the engineering profession.
