The Commissioner for Basic and Secondary Education, Mr. Chiedu Ebie has promised to work closely with the Delta State House of Assembly Committee on Education in other to develop the education sector of the state.
Mr Ebie made the pledge when officials of the Ministry of Basic and Secondary Education met with the House Committee Members on Education at the committee room of the House of Assembly. He said although the state was currently experiencing paucity of funds, His Exellency, Senator Ifeanyi Okowa was irrevocably committed to developing educational infrastructure in the state,hence the massive renovation and upgrade of schools across the three senatorial districts of the state.
The Commissioner assured the committee members that the Ministry would not relent in its effort to continue to improve the standard of education in the state through the monitoring of activities in the schools from time to time in other to keep them in check.
The Chairman of the Delta State House of Assembly House Committee on Education, Hon. Angela Nwaka commended the commissioner and his team for their efforts in bringing sanity to the Basic and Secondary Education sector and assured the Ministry of the committee’s co-operation in assisting the Ministry to meet its mandate as encapsulated in the SMART Agenda of His Exellency, Senator Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa.
