Delta State Commissioner for Information, Mr. Patrick Ukah, has felicitated with Christian men on the occasion of the 2017 Father’s Day celebration.
Speaking at the Christ Anglican Church, Okpanam, during the celebration, Mr. Ukah congratulated men of the church for their wonderful performance and a successful ceremony.
He urged the women to join in the celebration as husbands and wives are one so they should make the day a very great one for the men.
The Commissioner for Information pledged continued support for the church, stressing that whether it is Catholic, Anglican or Pentecostal, the work of God is the same and should be supported.
In his sermon during the service, the Vicar of the church, Revd. Ubaka Benjamin Okolotu, called on Christians to find their lost focus and stop utterances that are capable of heating up the polity.
The Vicar said that Christians should capitalise on the fact that God is slow to anger to amend their unchristian lives and not allow the wonderful opportunity to be wasted.
Revd. Okolotu stated that in as much as it is difficult to forgive one another, Christians should cultivate the ability to forgive no matter the circumstances.
High point of the celebration was the presentation of a plaque of the Father of The Day to the Commissioner for Information by Revd. Okolotu.
The Executive Chairman of Ndokwa East Local Government Council, Mrs. Nkechi Chukwurah, also received a plague during the ceremony.
Special thanksgiving by men, women, choir and children, drama presentation by the men, cultural display by the children and a rendition by men’s choir added colour to the celebration.
