We Shall Discharge Our Assigned Responsibilities Without Blemish, Serve All Political Parties And Candidates – DSIEC Chairman Chief Ogbodu

Chairman of Delta State Independent Electoral Commission (DESIEC), Chief Mike OGBODU has assured stakeholders comprising all political parties and candidates in the forthcoming Local Government Council elections of unbiased and impartial service delivery in all electioneering processes in the state.

He gave the assurance while speaking immediately after the commission members took their Oath of office at the State Exco Chambers.

“I want to assure His Excellency the Governor of Delta, all stakeholders particularly political parties and candidates in the forthcoming local government councils elections that DESIEC under my watch as Chairman; will be proactive, firm and decisive such that the entire electioneering process shall be generally transparent, credible, free and fair.”

“We shall do everything within our God-given wisdom and abilities. We know the enormous trust and responsibilities bestowed on the board as an impartial electoral umpire. I have no doubt in my mind that we shall discharge our functions without blemish,” OGBODU said.

His Excellency the Governor of Delta State, Senator Dr. Ifeanyi Arthur Okowa urged members of the commission to discharge their official responsibilities without fear or favor, adding that the good people of Delta State are relying heavily on DESIEC as an unbiased electoral umpire to conduct elections to the satisfaction of all stakeholders.

“You were all selected, screened and the searchlight on individual personality revealed that you are trustworthy men and women of uncommon integrity.

“It is therefore very important that you exhibit your strength of positive character and transparent honesty in serving the people of Delta State irrespective of political parties.

“Neutrality must be exhibited in the discharge of your assigned responsibilities such that all stakeholders in the electioneering process are given equal attention and same quality of service,” Gov Okowa added.

His Excellency the Deputy Governor of Delta State, Barrister Kingsley Otuaro, Speaker of DTHA, Rt Hon Sheriff Oborevwori, Delta PDP Chairman, Barrister Kingsley Esiso, Secretary to Delta State Government, Hon Festus Ovie Agas, Head of Service, Mr. Reginald Bayoko and other top government officials and party leaders were in attendance.⁠⁠⁠⁠
